then it is an authentic chain of narration, and in any case, it is supported by what follows. 2 - As for the ḥadīth of Sahl, it is narrated by ʿIyāḍ ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Fahri and others from Ibn Shihāb from Sahl in the ḥadīth of the two who invoke curses upon each other, saying: "The sunnah continued thereafter for the two who invoke curses upon each other that they should be separated and never reunite." It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (1/351-352) and al-Bayhaqī (7/410). I say: This is a good chain of narration, and its narrators are those of Muslim. Although al-Fahri has some weakness, it is not severe, so he can be used as supporting evidence, especially since he is not the sole narrator, as others are coupled with him. Even though he is not named in this narration, it is possible that it is al-Zubaydī mentioned later. If it is him, then it is a strong corroboration because this al-Zubaydī—whose name is Muḥammad ibn Ziyād—is a reliable and established narrator among the senior students of al-Zuhrī, as stated by the ḥāfiẓ. If it is someone else, he is unknown, and if his ḥadīth is not strengthened, it does not harm it. This corroboration is narrated by al-Awzāʿī from al-Zubaydī from al-Zuhrī with it. It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī. I say: Its chain of narration is authentic, and its narrators are trustworthy except for Ibn Abī Ḥassān, the teacher of Abū Bakr al-Ismāʿīlī, whose name I do not know at present. 3 and 4 - As for the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd and ʿAlī, it is narrated by Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ from ʿĀṣim from Abū Wāʾil from ʿAbd Allāh, and from ʿĀṣim from Zur from ʿAlī, who both said: "The sunnah continued for the two who invoke curses upon each other that they should never reunite." It was recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannaf" (7/112/12434 and 12436) and by al-Bayhaqī and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (9/390/9661) from Ibn Masʿūd alone. I say: Its chain of narration is good at least for corroborations because Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ has some weakness in terms of his memory
