- "All the paths of Mecca are a way and a place for sacrifice." I say: It is only ḥasan because Usāmah—who is al-Laythī, their client—although he is among the narrators of Muslim, some have criticized him regarding his memory, while others have deemed him reliable, including Yaʿqūb ibn Sufyān, the well-known ḥāfiẓ. Al-Bayhaqī narrated from him that he said after the ḥadīth: "Usāmah ibn Zayd—according to the people of his town, Medina—is trustworthy and reliable."
