"truthful, but makes many mistakes." However, it has a supporting narration reported by Yaʿqūb from Jaʿfar ibn Abī al-Mughīrah from Ibn Abzā from ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr said to him during the siege: "I have camels prepared for you, would you like to move to Makkah, so that those who wish to come to you may do so?" He said: "No, I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: 'A ram from Quraysh named ʿAbd Allāh will be buried in Makkah, bearing half the burdens of the people.'" It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/64) and its narrators are trustworthy as stated by al-Haythamī, but this Jaʿfar—who is Ibn Abī al-Mughīrah al-Khuzāʿī al-Qummī—and Yaʿqūb—who is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Qummī—al-Ḥāfiẓ said about both: "truthful but errs." Thus, the ḥadīth is ḥasan according to al-Bazzār's wording, and ṣaḥīḥ according to Aḥmad's wording.

"Whoever Allāh promises a reward for an action, He will fulfill it for him, and whoever He promises a punishment for an action, He has the choice in that matter." It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá in "Musnad" (2/838), Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Sunnah" (960 - my edition), and ʿAbd Allāh al-Baghawī in "Ḥadīth Hudbah ibn Khālid" (1/number 55). They said: Hudbah narrated to us, Suhayl ibn Abī Ḥazm al-Qaṭīʿī narrated to us from Thābit from Anas as marfūʿ. It was also recorded by al-Qāsim al-Saraqusṭī in "Gharīb al-Ḥadīth" (2/109/2), Abū al-Ḥusayn al-Abnūsī in "al-Fawāʾid" (6/2), Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (189/1), Abū Bakr al-Kalābādhī in "Miftāḥ al-Maʿānī" (110/2 and 354/2), and al-Wāḥidī in "al-Wasīṭ" (1
