and Muḥammad - who is Ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylá - has poor memory. He was followed by al-Aʿmash from ʿAṭiyyah with the wording: "Those who accumulate wealth are ruined... and they are few." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/31 and 52) and Abū Yaʿlá (1/303). It is supported by what Abū Isḥāq narrated from Kumayl ibn Ziyād from Abū Hurayrah who said: "I was walking with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in a grove belonging to some people of Medina, and he said: O Abū Hurayrah! Those who accumulate wealth are ruined..." without his saying: "and behind them." And he added: "and they are few." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/309 and 525). I say: Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs except for Kumayl ibn Ziyād, and he is trustworthy, except that Abū Isḥāq, who is ʿAmr ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Sabīʿī, is a mudallis and mixed up. In summary, the ḥadīth with this supporting narration is ḥasan, if Allāh wills.
