It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (3/204/1) and al-Haythamī said (8/57): "And Asbāṭ ibn ʿAzrah is unknown to me, and the rest of its narrators are those of the authentic collections." I said: In "al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl" by Ibn Abī Ḥātim (1/1/332): "Asbāṭ ibn Zurʿah. He narrated from Mujāhid. He narrated from Isrāʾīl." And he did not add more. I said: It appears that it is him, but the name of his father was altered in one of the books: "al-Muʿjam" or "al-Jarḥ," and the first is more likely, as it is in "al-Tārīkh al-Kabīr" (1/2/53) in accordance with "al-Jarḥ."
