Abū al-Rijāl from ʿAmrah on his authority. He added at the beginning: "Do not withhold surplus water, and ...". And this Ḥārithah is weak. However, this addition is authentic and confirmed from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" and others, and it is presented with various wordings in "Aḥādīth al-Buyūʿ".

"He forbade garlic, onions, and leeks." It was recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (2171): Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, saying: Bishr ibn Ḥarb al-Nadbī narrated from Abū Saʿīd in a marfūʿ manner. We said: O Abū Saʿīd, is it forbidden? He said: No. I said: And this isnād is good; Bishr ibn Ḥarb is truthful but has some weakness as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb". It is supported by the ḥadīth of Jābir who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) forbade eating onions and leeks." It was recorded by Muslim (2/80). In one of his narrations: "Whoever eats onions, garlic, and leeks should not come near our mosque..." the ḥadīth. Ibn Mājah (3367) recorded from the path of ʿUthmān ibn Naʿīm from al-Mughīrah ibn Nuhayk from Dukhayn al-Ḥajarī that he heard ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir al-Juhanī in a marfūʿ manner with his wording: "Do not eat onions." Then he said a hidden word: "raw." I said: And ʿUthmān and al-Mughīrah are unknown.
