2 - The ḥadīth of Anas regarding the story of the group: "... and I marry women, so whoever turns away from my sunnah is not from me." It was recorded by al-Shaykhān and others, and I have referenced it in "al-Irwāʾ" (1808). 3 - His saying (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "Marry loving, fertile women, for I will boast of your numbers before the nations." It was reported from the ḥadīth of Maʿqil ibn Yasār, authenticated by al-Ḥākim, and from Anas ibn Mālik, authenticated by Ibn Ḥibbān, and from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar with a good chain, and it is referenced in "Ādāb al-Zafāf" (pp. 53-54) and "al-Irwāʾ" (1811). 4 - From Anas, attributed [to the Prophet]: "O group of young men, whoever among you can afford it, let him marry, or let him marry, and if not, then he should fast, for it will be a shield for him." It was recorded by al-Bazzār (p. 146 - his additions) with a sound chain from him. It has a corroborating report from the ḥadīth of ʿUthmān and another from the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd with a similar meaning, and both are referenced in "al-Taʿlīq al-Raghīb" (3/67).

- "He forbade covering the walls." It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī (7/272) from Ḥakīm ibn Jubayr from ʿAlī ibn Ḥusayn as a mursal. I said: Ḥakīm ibn Jubayr is weak, as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb," so it is a mursal with a weak chain. I said: However, it has been established from multiple sources that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) disapproved of covering the walls without need, including the ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah regarding the story of the curtain, and his saying (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) to her:
