the second: with the wording: "... tasked with tying two grains of barley together." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim. the third: with the wording: "Whoever lies about a dream intentionally, let him prepare his seat in the Fire." It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/131). the fourth: similar to it, except that it says: "Whoever lies about me intentionally..." It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/130). I said: And this last wording is more likely, as it has been reported from ʿAlī through another chain from Ḥabīb from Thaʿlabah from ʿAlī as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/78). Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, except for the ʿanʿanah of Ḥabīb, who is Ibn Abī Thābit, and Thaʿlabah, who is Ibn Yazīd al-Ḥamānī, was deemed trustworthy by al-Nasāʾī and Ibn Ḥibbān. The second wording is preserved from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās as a marfūʿ ḥadīth, except that it says: "Whoever claims to have seen a dream he did not see, he will be tasked with tying two grains of barley together and will not be able to." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (12/359 - Fatḥ) and al-Tirmidhī (2284), who said: "A ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth." (Note): This ḥadīth was recorded by al-Khaṭīb al-Baghdādī in "al-Tārīkh" (11/93) through the chain of Sufyān al-Thawrī from ʿĀṣim from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sulamī with the first wording. And from this chain, it was recorded by al-Tirmidhī and others from ʿAbd al-Aʿlá ibn ʿĀmir from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sulamī... so his statement: "from ʿĀṣim," in al-Khaṭīb's narration is anomalous, and it is likely that the original was: "from Ibn ʿĀmir," but it was altered by some narrators or copyists to: "from ʿĀṣim."
