I said: It appeared as "Abū Ḥumnah," but in "al-Jarḥ" (3/2/241), it is "Abū Khubaybah," and he said about his father: "There is no harm in him." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "There is a difference of opinion regarding his kunyah, and his nickname is Suʾr al-Asad, and he is truthful." Al-Ḥammānī is weak despite being one of the narrators of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], and al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful but makes mistakes." I said: In summary, the ḥadīth, with all its chains, is ḥasan to me at the least level. And Allāh knows best. Then I saw the ḥadīth in "Kitāb al-Sunnah" by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim (1001): Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us, Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn Khālid from ʿAṭāʾ with it. This is a ṣaḥīḥ mursal isnād, all its men are trustworthy, and it is a strong corroboration from Abū Muʿāwiyah for Abū Yaḥyá al-Ḥammānī, refuting Abū Nuʿaym's statement that al-Ḥammānī was alone in narrating it!
- "Whoever conceals his Muslim brother in this world, Allāh will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection." It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/62 and 5/375) from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr from Ḥabīb from his uncle who said: "It reached a man from the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) about a man from the Companions of the Prophet that he was narrating from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he said (and he mentioned it), so he traveled to him - and he was in Egypt - and asked him about the ḥadīth, he said: Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: (and he mentioned it), he said: And I also heard it from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)." I said: The men of its isnād are reliable
