as for Ibn Ḥibbān, he mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (8/357)! His father is Hāniʾ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and Ibn Ḥibbān said in "al-Thiqāt" (7/583): "He sometimes narrates strange things." Al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (10/289): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its men were deemed reliable, though some were weak." As for the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar, it is narrated by Faḍl ibn Marzūq from ʿAṭiyyah from him. It was also recorded by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā. ʿAṭiyyah, who is al-ʿAwfī, is weak. As for the ḥadīth of ʿAlī, it is narrated by Aḥmad ibn ʿĪsá al-ʿAlawī, who reported from Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad from his father from his grandfather, as a marfūʿ narration. It was recorded by al-Sahmī in "Tārīkh Jurjān" (322). I said: This al-ʿAlawī was called by al-Dāraqutnī: "A liar." I said: He should not be used as evidence. In summary, the ḥadīth is ḥasan, if Allāh wills, when considering the combined narrations of al-Anṣārī and Ibn ʿUmar. And Allāh knows best.
