al-Haythamī: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr,' and its narrators are trustworthy." This is what he said, and Abū Shaybah was not deemed trustworthy by anyone other than Ibn Ḥibbān (1/306 - Hindiyyah), and al-Dhahabī said: "It is not known who he is." In summary, the ḥadīth, with its supporting narrations, is considered ḥasan at the least. And Allāh, the Exalted, knows best. Then I found another chain for the ḥadīth of Muʿādh, narrated by al-Naḍr ibn Kathīr al-Saʿdī, who reported to us from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd al-Anṣārī from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from him. It was recorded by al-Mukhliṣ in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh" (7/1/2). Its narrators are trustworthy except for this al-Naḍr, who is weak but devout, as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb." (Note): It was included by al-Suyūṭī in "al-Jāmiʿ" as mentioned above, with the narration of al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ," and al-Munāwī claimed that its extraction is not precise! Then he mentioned that the wording of "al-Awsaṭ" is the wording of "al-Kabīr," which does not include: "And whoever has a good deed written for him..." It seems that when he read the aforementioned words of al-Haythamī, he did not notice his statement: ".. in 'al-Kabīr'," which led to the error. We ask Allāh for protection.

- "Whoever claims lineage to someone other than his father will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, and its fragrance can be found from a distance of seventy years." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/171/194) and al-Khaṭīb (2/347) from Shuʿbah from al-Ḥakam from Mujāhid from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I say: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim, and al-Ḥakam is Ibn ʿUtaybah al-Kūfī
