(ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to some women of the Anṣār: "None of you who loses three children and bears it with patience will fail to enter Paradise." A woman among them asked, "And two, O Messenger of Allāh?" He said, "And two." It was recorded by Muslim (8/39) and Aḥmad (2/246 and 378). Among them is the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, raised [to the Prophet] similarly, in which it is said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: 'And two, and two, and two.'" It was recorded by Muslim, as well as al-Bukhārī (3/94 - Fatḥ) without repetition: "And two."

- "Among the acts of righteousness is to maintain the friendship of your father's friend." Al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (350) from ʿAnbasah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sābiṭ from Anas ibn Mālik, raised [to the Prophet]. And he said: "It is not narrated from Anas except through this isnād; Ibn Sābiṭ did not narrate from Anas other than this." And I say: It cannot be asserted that Ibn Sābiṭ narrated it from Anas because the narrator from him is ʿAnbasah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, who is al-Umawī, and he is abandoned; Abū Ḥātim accused him of fabrication. Al-Haythamī said (8/147): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and in it is ʿAnbasah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Qurashī, and he is abandoned." However, the ḥadīth is authentic because it has supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar in Muslim and others, and it has been previously mentioned under ḥadīth (2089).
