"It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Bazzār, and its narrators are trustworthy." I said: It was also recorded by Ibn Naṣr in "al-Ṣalāh" (1/101) from the mentioned source, as well as by al-Ḥākim (1/4 and 4/168), who said: "Its isnād is authentic," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. The paths mentioned earlier were contradicted by Yazīd ibn Hārūn, who said: Shuʿbah narrated to us from Ashʿath ibn Abī al-Shaʿthāʾ from ʿAmr ibn Maymūn who said: something similar. It was also recorded by al-Bazzār, who said: "We do not know anyone who narrated it from Shuʿbah from Ashʿath in this manner except Yazīd, and he was not followed in it. The correct ḥadīth is that of Abū Balj from ʿAmr from Abū Hurayrah." (Note): al-Munāwī mentioned that al-ʿIrāqī said in his "Amālī": "An authentic ḥadīth and it is not through al-Ḥākim's path!"

- "Whoever wishes to recite the Qurʾān fresh as it was revealed, let him recite it according to the recitation of Ibn Umm ʿAbd." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (138) and Aḥmad (1/7, 445, 454) through the route of ʿĀṣim ibn Abī al-Najūd from Zur ibn Ḥubaysh from Ibn Masʿūd who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) entered the mosque while he was between Abū Bakr and ʿUmar, and Ibn Masʿūd was praying and reciting (Sūrat al-Nisāʾ). He reached the end of the hundred [verses], and Ibn Masʿūd began to supplicate while standing in prayer. The Prophet ﷺ said: Ask and you will be given, ask and you will be given. Then he said: (and he mentioned it). When morning came, Abū Bakr (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) went to him to give him glad tidings and said to him: What did you ask Allāh for last night? He said: I asked Allāh for faith that does not recede, and bliss that does not end, and the companionship of Muḥammad in the highest eternal Paradise." Then ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) came, and it was said to him: Abū Bakr has preceded you! He said: May Allāh have mercy on Abū Bakr, I never competed with him in good except that he preceded me to it."
