- "Among us is the one behind whom ʿĪsá ibn Maryam will pray." Al-Suyūṭī attributed it in "al-Jāmiʿ" to Abū Nuʿaym in "Kitāb al-Mahdī" from Abū Saʿīd, and al-Munāwī said: "It is weak." And I say: I have not yet been able to review its isnād, yet the ḥadīth is authentic to me because it appears dispersed in various ḥadīths. As for him being from the Ahl al-Bayt, there are three ḥadīths: The first is from the ḥadīth of Umm Salamah. It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd and others with a sound isnād, and it is referenced in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" under ḥadīth (80), and in "al-Rawḍ al-Nadīr" (2/54). The second is from the ḥadīth of ʿAlī, and it is also referenced in "al-Rawḍ" (2/53). The third is from the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd, and it is also referenced in "al-Rawḍ" and in "al-Mishkāt" (5454). As for his prayer with ʿĪsá (ʿalayhi al-salām), there is the ḥadīth of Jābir (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) that is elevated: "A group from my ummah will continue to fight for the truth, prevailing until the Day of Resurrection. He said: ʿĪsá ibn Maryam (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) will descend, and their leader will say: Come, lead us in prayer. He will say: No, some of you are leaders over others, as an honor from Allāh to this ummah." It was recorded by Muslim and others, and its reference was previously mentioned under number (1960).
