but it was also narrated by al-Quḍāʿī (p. 110/2) through the chain of Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh from al-Aʿmash from ʿAṭāʾ from Jābir, raised to the Prophet with a similar wording, and he said: "It will remain standing until it is uprooted." This is a good isnād. As for what Aḥmad also narrated (5/342) through the chain of Ismāʿīl ibn Umayyah from someone who told him from Umm Walad of Ubayy ibn Kaʿb from Ubayy ibn Kaʿb: "A man entered upon the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: When was your last encounter with Umm Mildam, which is free between the skin and flesh? He said: That is a pain that has never afflicted me. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: 'The likeness of a believer is like a tender plant; it turns red sometimes and yellow at other times.'" It is evidently weak due to the anonymity of Umm Walad and the unnamed narrator from her, and al-Haythamī criticized it for this reason (2/293).
