ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mugharrā from al-Azhar ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Awdī from Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān from Sālim ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar from his father from ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib in a marfūʿ ḥadīth, and Abū Nuʿaym said: "This is a strange ḥadīth, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mugharrā is the only one who narrated it from Azhar." I said: Both of them are truthful, as are those above them. As for al-Qaṭṭān, a group of trustworthy narrators reported from him, including Abū Dāwūd in "al-Marāsīl" and al-Nasāʾī outside of "al-Sunan," and Aḥmad used to honor him, so he is considered reliable, and the ḥāfiẓ said: "Acceptable." I said: Thus, his ḥadīth is ḥasan, if Allāh wills, especially since Abū Nuʿaym's previous statement indicates that he was not the only one who narrated it. And Allāh knows best.

"There is no Muslim who cleans barley for his horse and then feeds it to him except that for every grain, a good deed is recorded for him." It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/103) and al-Ṭabarānī in "Musnad al-Shāmiyyīn" (p. 103) from Sharḥabīl ibn Muslim al-Khawlānī: "That Rūḥ ibn Zunbāʿ visited Tamīm al-Dārī and found him cleaning barley for his horse. He said: And his family was around him, so Rūḥ said to him: Was there not among them someone who could do this for you? Tamīm said: Yes, but I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it." I said: And this is a good Shāmī isnād, its men are trustworthy, and there is some discussion about Sharḥabīl that does not harm, for al-Ṭabarānī said under the title: "What Sharḥabīl ibn Muslim ibn Ḥāmid al-Khawlānī narrated": "I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad say: I heard my father say: Sharḥabīl ibn Muslim is among the trustworthy Muslims."
