"On the night I was taken on the Night Journey, I did not pass by any assembly of angels except that all of them said to me: O Muḥammad, you should practice cupping." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī, Ibn Mājah (2/350), and Ibn Jarīr al-Ṭabarī in "al-Tahdhīb" (2/103-104) and he authenticated it (!), as well as by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī (3/139/1) through the route of ʿAbbād ibn Manṣūr from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās as marfūʿ. al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic," but al-Dhahabī refuted it by saying: "I say: No." He was correct here and erred in the previous statement regarding the wording: "The best day to practice cupping." The ḥadīth was mentioned in "al-Majmaʿ" (5/91) where it was said: "It was narrated by al-Bazzār, and in it is ʿAṭāf ibn Khālid, who is trustworthy, but there was some discussion about him." I say: It appears that this is another route for the ḥadīth from Ibn ʿAbbās and it has supporting narrations. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī from Mālik ibn Ṣaʿṣaʿah, and its narrators are those of the authentic collections, including the following wording: "On the night I was taken on the Night Journey, I did not pass by any assembly except that they said: O Muḥammad!
