and al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. Then al-Bazzār (2247) and Ibn Jarīr in "his Tafsīr" (20/50) also reported it through paths from ʿAwf as mawqūf on Abū Saʿīd. al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (7/88): "Al-Bazzār narrated it as mawqūf and marfūʿ, and their narrators are the narrators of the authentic collections." I say: Both are authentic, and there is no contradiction between them. It is clear that what is mawqūf on a Companion holds the status of marfūʿ regarding tafsīr, even if it is not reported as marfūʿ. How much more so when it is also authentically marfūʿ?

- "There is no one among the people like a man who takes hold of the reins of his horse and strives in the path of Allāh, avoiding the evils of people. And like a man who lives among his sheep, hosting his guest and fulfilling his rights."
