we were in the Battle of Badr, with every three of us sharing a camel. ʿAlī and Abū Lubābah were the companions of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). When it was the Prophet's (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) turn, they would say: "Ride, O Messenger of Allāh! So that we may walk on your behalf," and he would say: (and he mentioned it). The context is from Aḥmad in a narration, and al-Bazzār and al-Ḥākim, who said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim!" al-Dhahabī remained silent about it because he said: "... the ḥadīth has already been mentioned." I have not seen it in any place other than this. ʿĀṣim ibn Bahdalah was only narrated by the two Shaykhs as corroborated, as in "al-Kāshif" and others. al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (6/68-69): "Narrated by Aḥmad and al-Bazzār, and he said: When it was the turn of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), they would say: Ride so that we may walk on your behalf, and the rest is similar." And in it is ʿĀṣim ibn Bahdalah, and his ḥadīth is ḥasan. I say: He missed that the wording he attributed to al-Bazzār is also from Aḥmad in a narration as we mentioned earlier.

"Allāh has not destroyed any people, generation, nation, or inhabitants of a village with a punishment from the sky since the Torah was revealed on earth, except for the people of the village who were transformed into apes. Have you not seen His saying: *And We gave Moses the Scripture after We had destroyed the former generations as an enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded* (Sūrah al-Qaṣaṣ, verse 43) Narrated by al-Ḥākim (2/408), al-Bazzār (2248 - al-Kashf), and al-Thaʿlabī in "his Tafsīr" (3/41/2) from two paths from ʿAwf from Abū Naḍrah from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī as marfūʿ
