The first and last additions are from Muslim, and the middle one is from Aḥmad. Al-Suyūṭī attributed it in "al-Ṣaghīr" and "al-Kabīr" to the two Shaykhs only with the first addition!!
والزيادة الأولى والأخيرة لمسلم والوسطى لأحمد. وعزاه السيوطي في " الصغير " و " الكبير " للشيخين فقط بالزيادة الأولى!!
"when the believers are saved from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection and are secure, the argument of one of you for his companion in truth in this world will not be more intense than the argument of the believers with their Lord for their brothers who have been admitted to the Fire. They will say: Our Lord! Our brothers used to pray with us, fast with us, and perform ḥajj with us, yet You admitted them to the Fire. He will say: Go and bring out those whom you recognize, and they will come to them and recognize them by their features, for the Fire does not consume their features. Among them are those whom the Fire has taken to the middle of their shins, and among them are those whom the Fire has taken to their ankles. They will bring them out and say: Our Lord! We have brought out those You commanded us to. Then He will say: Bring out those whose hearts have the weight of a dinar of faith, then those whose hearts have the weight of half a dinar of faith, until He says: those whose hearts have the weight of a speck. Abū Saʿīd said: Whoever does not believe this, let him read this verse: *"Indeed, Allāh does not wrong [even] as much as a speck, and if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward"* (Sūrah al-Nisāʾ, 40) - He will say: Our Lord! We have brought out those You commanded us to, and there remains no one in the Fire who has any good in him. Then Allāh will say: The angels have interceded, the prophets have interceded, and the believers have interceded, and there remains the Most Merciful of the merciful. Then He will take a handful from the Fire—or He said: two handfuls—of people who never did any good for Allāh, who have been burned until they became charcoal. They will be brought to a water called the Water of Life, and it will be poured over them, and they will grow as a seed grows in the silt of a flood, emerging from their bodies like..
- " إذا خلص المؤمنون من النار يوم القيامة وأمنوا، فما مجادلة أحدكم لصاحبه في الحق يكون له في الدنيا بأشد مجادلة له من المؤمنين لربهم، في إخوانهم الذين أدخلوا النار. قال: يقولون: ربنا! إخواننا كانوا يصلون معنا ويصومون معنا ويحجون معنا، فأدخلتهم النار. قال: فيقول: اذهبوا فأخرجوا من عرفتم، فيأتونهم، فيعرفونهم بصورهم، لا تأكل النار صورهم، فمنهم من أخذته النار إلى أنصاف ساقيه ومنهم من أخذته النار إلى كعبيه، فيخرجونهم، فيقولون: ربنا! أخرجنا من أمرتنا. ثم يقول: أخرجوا من كان قلبه في وزن دينار من الإيمان، ثم من كان في قلبه وزن نصف دينار من الإيمان، حتى يقول: من كان في قلبه مثقال ذرة - قال أبو سعيد: فمن لم يصدق بهذا فليقرأ هذه الآية: * (إن الله لا يظلم مثقال ذرة وإن تك حسنة يضاعفها ويؤت من لدنه أجرا عظيما) * (١) - قال: فيقولون: ربنا! قد أخرجنا من أمرتنا، فلم يبق في النار أحد فيه خير. قال: ثم يقول الله: شفعت الملائكة وشفع الأنبياء وشفع المؤمنون وبقي أرحم الراحمين. قال: فيقبض قبضة من النار - أو قال: قبضتين - ناس لم يعملوا لله خيرا قط، قد احترقوا حتى صاروا حمما. قال: فيؤتى بهم إلى ماء يقال له: ماء الحياة فيصب عليهم، فينبتون كما تنبت الحبة في حميل السيل، فيخرجون من أجسادهم مثل
