"you are migrants wherever you are." It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/55), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "al-Mushkil" (2/299), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (7/26/6265), as well as al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (1/1/21). Its narrators are trustworthy, narrators of Muslim, except for Muḥammad (and in "al-Musnad" it appears as Saʿīd) ibn Iyas. Al-Bukhārī mentioned him in this narration, as did Ibn Abī Ḥātim (3/2/305), without mentioning any criticism or endorsement. Al-Haythamī said: "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī, and in it is Saʿīd ibn Iyas, whom I do not know, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy." I say: Saʿīd is not in the narration of al-Ṭabarānī and the others; rather, he is in the narration of Aḥmad as mentioned before, and this is an error by some of the narrators. Aḥmad also narrated subsequently through the route of Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allāh from Yazīd, the freed slave of Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ, from Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ who said, "I came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: O Messenger of Allāh! He said: You are the people of our desert and we are the people of your city life." Its chain is authentic. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ḥarmalah also narrated from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥuṣayn from ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Jurhud who said: I heard a man say to Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh: Who remains with you from the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)? He said: Anas ibn Mālik and Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ remain. A man said: As for Salamah, he has renounced his migration. Jābir said: Do not say that, for I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say to Aslam: "Go to the desert, O Aslam!" They said: O Messenger of Allāh! We fear that we will renounce after our migration. He said:
