"and its isnād is authentic." Al-Bukhārī alluded to this path in some of his chapter headings for this ḥadīth by saying in "al-Daʿawāt" (11/144): "Chapter on the Prophet's (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) supplication for his servant for long life and abundant wealth." Al-Ḥāfiẓ supported this with the narration from "al-Adab al-Mufrad" mentioned earlier, but he missed the narration of Ibn Saʿd, which is more authentic as previously stated. A corroborating witness for it has been mentioned in the fifth path. Then I found another corroborating witness mentioned by al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Mizzī in "Tahdhīb al-Kamāl" (2/364) where he said: "Al-Ḥusayn ibn Wāqid and others reported from Thābit from Anas: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) supplicated for me saying: 'O Allāh, increase his wealth and offspring and prolong his life.'" This indicates the permissibility of supplicating for a person for long life, as is customary in some Arab countries, contrary to the opinion of some scholars. It is supported by the fact that there is no difference between it and supplicating for happiness and the like, as all of it is predestined, so reflect.
