" it was narrated by al-Bazzār, and in it is Shabīb ibn Bishr, who is considered weak, but Ibn Ḥibbān authenticated him and said: he makes mistakes, and the rest of its narrators are those of the authentic collections." I said: Ibn Maʿīn also authenticated him, and the preferred opinion regarding him is what we mentioned earlier. As for the second part of the ḥadīth, there is another chain from Anas which I have provided earlier (1887). There is also supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, which I mentioned there. And there is another supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr, which will appear under ḥadīth (2253), so the ḥadīth is authentic.

- "Indeed, Allāh elevates some people with this Book and lowers others with it." Narrated by Muslim (2/201), al-Dārimī (2/443), and Ibn Mājah (no. 206 - edited by al-Aʿẓamī) through the chain of al-Zuhrī from ʿĀmir ibn Wāthilah that Nāfiʿ ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥārith met ʿUmar at ʿUsfān, and ʿUmar had appointed him over Makkah. He asked: Whom did you appoint over the people of the valley? He replied: Ibn Abzā. He asked: And who is Ibn Abzā? He replied: A freed slave from our freed slaves. He asked: So you appointed a freed slave over them?! He replied: He is a reciter of the Book of Allāh, and he is knowledgeable about the laws of inheritance. ʿUmar said: Indeed, your Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it.

- "It will be said to the companion of the Qurʾān: Recite and ascend and recite in a measured way as you used to recite in the world, for your position will be at the last verse you recite." Narrated by Abū Dāwūd (1464), al-Tirmidhī (2915), and Ibn Ḥibbān (1790) with the addition, and al-Ḥākim (1/552-553), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (10/498), Ibn Naṣr in "Qiyām al-Layl" (p. 70), Aḥmad (2/192), and al-Rāmahurmuzī in "al-Muḥaddith al-Fāṣil"
