"a man asked the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) what is sin? He said: what causes doubt or what unsettles your heart, so leave it." It was recorded by Ibn al-Mubārak (825) with a sound isnād, and others as previously mentioned with number (550).
"O Abū Bakr! Three things, all of them are true: there is no servant who is wronged with an injustice and overlooks it for the sake of Allāh except that Allāh will strengthen his victory through it, and no man opens the door of giving intending to maintain ties except that Allāh will increase him in abundance through it, and no man opens the door of asking intending to increase except that Allāh will increase him in scarcity through it." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/436) from Ibn ʿAjlān who said: Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd narrated to us from Abū Hurayrah: "that a man insulted Abū Bakr while the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was sitting, and the Prophet kept admiring and smiling. When the man increased [in his insults], Abū Bakr responded to some of his words, and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) became angry and stood up. Abū Bakr followed him and said: O Messenger of Allāh! He was insulting me while you were sitting, and when I responded to some of his words, you became angry and stood up. He said: there was an angel with you responding on your behalf, but when you responded to some of his words, the devil appeared, and I do not sit with the devil. Then he said: "and he mentioned it." I say: its isnād is good. And the ḥadīth was mentioned in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (8/190): "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' with similar wording, and the men of Aḥmad are the men of (the Ṣaḥīḥ)!" Thus he said, and Ibn ʿAjlān was only narrated by al-Bukhārī in a suspended form and Muslim for support. And the last sentence of it has another route from al-ʿAlāʾ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from his father from Abū Hurayrah. It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/418)
