from ʿUtaybah from Maymūn ibn Abī Shaybīb from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) as mursal, and this is more likely." I said: I do not see this, for both ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muslim—who is al-Qasmali—and Jarīr ibn Ḥāzim are trustworthy, and perhaps the former is more reliable, for the ḥāfiẓ said about him: "A trustworthy worshipper, though he may err." And he said about Jarīr: "Trustworthy, but his ḥadīth from Qatādah is weak, and he has errors when narrating from memory." I said: If there is no error in the isnād of this, then at the very least, each of the isnāds should be judged as preserved, and that al-Aʿmash narrated it both ways. And Allāh knows best.
