from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ẓabyān, from Salmān in a marfūʿ manner. Ibn Bishrān also narrated it in "al-Amālī" (197/1): ʿAbd al-Bāqī ibn Qāniʿ informed us, Muḥammad ibn Mūsá al-Nahritīrī narrated to us, Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad al-Maqdisī narrated to us, al-Firyābī narrated it. I said: Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, and al-Firyābī's name is Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf, not ʿĪsá ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-ʿAsqalānī. Ibn ʿAdī said: "He is weak and steals ḥadīth." Al-Dāraqutnī declared him trustworthy, and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him and included his ḥadīth in "Ṣaḥīḥ." As for the follow-up by Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad al-Maqdisī, he is Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf ibn Sarj al-Firyābī, and he is not the previously mentioned al-Firyābī as in "al-Tahdhīb," and he is truthful as Abū Ḥātim said, and al-Dhahabī followed him in "al-Kāshif." As for Muḥammad ibn Mūsá al-Nahritīrī, al-Khaṭīb said (3/241): "He was trustworthy, virtuous, and noble." ʿAbdān ibn Aḥmad also followed him according to al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (6/292/6095). I said: Then I saw the ḥadīth in "al-Amthāl" by Abū al-Shaykh al-Aṣbahānī (137) through another route from Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf with it. And he has a supporting narration (139) from the narration of Usāmah ibn Zayd (I said: and he is al-Laythī) from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār from Ibn ʿUmar in a marfūʿ manner with it.
