It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/84-85). I said: Its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī. The ḥadīth was previously mentioned in the narration of Abū Dāwūd under ḥadīth (395).

"If you were to draw from Buṭḥān, you would not increase." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (2/178) and Aḥmad (3/448) through authentic chains from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Taymī who said: My father Ḥadrad al-Aslamī told us: "He came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) seeking his assistance for the dowry of a woman. He said: How much did you give her as a dowry? He said: Two hundred dirhams. The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said..." and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic isnād," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I said: It is as they said. Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh disagreed with them, saying: from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Ḥadrad al-Aslamī from his father with it. He added ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Ḥadrad. It was recorded by al-Dūlābī in "al-Kuná" (1/25). I said: This addition is objectionable, as Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh is alone in it and he is weak in his narrations from the people of the Ḥijāz, and this is one of them.
