- "If ten of the Jews had believed in me, there would not have remained a single Jew on the earth except that they would have accepted Islam." Narrated by al-Bukhārī (6/220 - Fatḥ) and Ibn al-Ḍurays in "Aḥādīth Muslim ibn Ibrāhīm al-Azdī" (4/2): Qurrat ibn Khālid narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn narrated from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it, and the wording is from Ibn al-Ḍurays, while al-Bukhārī's wording is abridged: "... the Jews would have believed in me." Abū Hilāl followed him, saying: Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn narrated to us with it, and his wording is: "If ten of the Jewish rabbis had believed in me, every Jew on the face of the earth would have believed in me." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/346, 363, and 416). And Abū Hilāl - his name is Muḥammad ibn Salīm al-Rāsibī - is truthful but has some weakness. Al-Manāwī attributed the ḥadīth to Muslim, but I did not see it with him.
- "If you take its hide, water and acacia will purify it." It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (4126), al-Nasāʾī (2/191), al-Dāraquṭnī (p. 17), al-Bayhaqī (1/19), and Aḥmad (6/334) from Kathīr ibn Farqad from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mālik ibn Ḥudhāfah from his mother ʿĀliyah bint Sabīʿ who said: "I had sheep at Uḥud, and they died, so I went to Maymūnah, the wife of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and mentioned that to her. She said: If you took their skins and benefited from them. I said: Is that permissible? She said: Yes. Some men from Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) dragging a sheep like a donkey, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to them: If you take its hide. They said: It is dead. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: Water and acacia will purify it."
