I said: And this isnād is weak. ʿĀliyah bint Subayʿ was not narrated from except by her son ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mālik ibn Ḥudhāfah. And he was not narrated from except by Kathīr ibn Furqad, and al-Dhahabī said: "There is obscurity in him." However, the ḥadīth has a strong corroboration from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās similar to it, and in it: "Is there not in water and acacia that which purifies it?" It was recorded by al-Dāraqutnī and al-Bayhaqī through the route of ʿAmr ibn al-Rabīʿ ibn Ṭāriq: Yaḥyá ibn Ayyūb narrated to us from ʿUqayl from al-Zuhrī from ʿUbayd Allāh from Ibn ʿAbbās in a marfūʿ form.
