(2/542) from the route of ʿAffān ibn Muslim: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us with this addition and said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. It was also narrated by Ibn Saʿd (1/6), Aḥmad (3/152, 229, 240, 254), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Asmāʾ" (p. 386).

"When Allāh breathed the soul into Adam and it reached his head, he sneezed and said: All praise is due to Allāh, Lord of the worlds. So, Allāh said to him: May Allāh have mercy on you." It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (2081) and al-Ḥākim (4/263) through two routes from Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Thābit from Anas as marfūʿ, except for al-Ḥākim who recorded it as mawqūf, and he said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, even if it is mawqūf," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said. There is an elevated witness for the ḥadīth from Abū Hurayrah, and it is extracted in "Takhrīj al-Sunnah li-Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim" (204 and 205). (Note): Al-Suyūṭī included the ḥadīth in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" but not in "al-Kabīr" with the narration of the aforementioned with the addition: "it quivered and flew." It is not with them, so I do not know where it came to him from?
