and it has another supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Umm Ḥumayd, the wife of Abū Ḥumayd al-Sāʿidī, reported in a similar manner, and there are two chains from her, one strengthening the other, as I have explained in "Takhrīj al-Targhīb," so the ḥadīth is ṣaḥīḥ with it.

"If I live, if Allāh wills, I will prohibit naming: Rabāḥ, Najīḥ, Aflāḥ, Nāfiʿ, and Yasār." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/136), Ibn Mājah (3729), and al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (2/302), and al-Ḥākim (4/274) from Abū Aḥmad who narrated to us from Sufyān al-Thawrī from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir from ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Al-Ṭaḥāwī did not mention ʿUmar in his isnād, and al-Tirmidhī said: "It is a gharīb ḥadīth, thus narrated by Abū Aḥmad from Sufyān from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir from ʿUmar, and others narrated it from Sufyān from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir from the Prophet ﷺ, and Abū Aḥmad is a trustworthy ḥāfiẓ, and what is well-known among people is from Jābir from the Prophet ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam without mentioning ʿUmar." I said: It is the narration of al-Ṭaḥāwī as we mentioned, and it is from him through the narration of Muḥammad ibn Kathīr al-ʿAbdī: Sufyān al-Thawrī narrated it to us. Abū Ḥudhayfah followed him: Sufyān narrated it to us. It was recorded by al-Ḥākim, who said: "It is ṣaḥīḥ according to the conditions of Muslim, and I do not know anyone who narrated it from al-Thawrī mentioning ʿUmar in its isnād except Abū Aḥmad." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said except for the ʿanʿanah of Abū al-Zubayr, but he explicitly stated transmission in the narration of Ibn Jurayj, where Abū al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh say: "The Prophet ﷺ intended to prohibit naming with Yaʿlá, Barakah, Aflāḥ, Yasār, Nāfiʿ, and similar names."
