and indeed, on the day of Khaybar and the day of Qurayẓah, he was on a donkey with a rope of palm fiber as its bridle, and beneath him was a saddle of palm fiber." It was recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (2425 - his arrangement), al-Tirmidhī (1017), Ibn Mājah (2/545), and al-Ḥākim, who said: "Its isnād is authentic!" and al-Dhahabī agreed! As for al-Tirmidhī, he said and was correct: "We do not know this ḥadīth except from the narration of Muslim al-Aʿwar - who is Muslim ibn Kaysān - and he is weak." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said about him: "Weak." Rather, al-Dhahabī himself said in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" and elsewhere: "They abandoned him." A better testimony than this is the ḥadīth of Simāk ibn Ḥarb: I heard ʿAbbād ibn Zāhir Abū al-Rawāʿ: I heard ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān say: "We accompanied the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in travel and residence, and he would visit the sick among the Muslims and attend their funerals, or he said: follow their funerals." It was recorded by al-Bazzār (1/388/819) and he said: "We do not know it from ʿUthmān except through this isnād, and we do not know that ʿAbbād narrated anything else, nor that anyone other than Simāk narrated from him." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said after it in "Zawāʾid" (p. 89): "I say: He is unknown in status, and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in 'al-Thiqāt' according to his principle." And I say: Abū Isḥāq al-Hamdānī also narrated from him as in "al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl" (3/1/80), and he said: "My father was asked about him? He said: A shaykh." Al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (3/29) and al-Aʿẓamī followed him in his commentary on
ولقد كان يوم خيبرويوم قريظة على حمار خطامه حبل من ليف وتحته إكاف من ليف ". أخرجه الطيالسي (٢٤٢٥ - ترتيبه) والترمذي (١٠١٧) وابن ماجة (٢ / ٥٤٥) والحاكم وقال: "صحيح الإسناد "! ووافقه الذهبي! وأما الترمذي فقال وأصاب: " حديث لانعرفه إلا من حديث مسلم الأعور - وهو مسلم بن كيسان - يضعف ". وقال الحافظفيه: " ضعيف ". بل قال الذهبي نفسه في " الضعفاء " وغيره: " تركوه ". وخير منه في الشهادة حديث سماك بن حرب: سمعت عباد بن زاهر أبا الرواع: سمعتعثمان بن عفان يقول: " إنا قد صحبنا رسول الله ﷺ في السفروالحضر، فكان يعود مرضى المسلمين ويشهد جنائزهم أو قال: يتبع جنائزهم ". أخرجه البزار (١ / ٣٨٨ / ٨١٩) وقال: " لا نعلمه عن عثمان إلا بهذا الإسنادولا نعلم روى عباد غير هذا، ولا روى عنه غير سماك ". قال الحافظ عقبه في "زوائده " (ص ٨٩) : " قلت: وهو مجهول الحال، وقد ذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات " على قاعدته ". وأقول: قد روى عنه أبو إسحاق الهمداني أيضا كما في "الجرح والتعديل " (٣ / ١ / ٨٠) ، وقال: " سئل أبي عنه؟ فقال: شيخ ". وقال الهيثمي في " مجمع الزوائد " (٣ / ٢٩) وقلده الأعظمي في تعليقه على
