Abū Nuʿaym also reported through the route of al-Ḥasan from Ḥaṭṭān ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Raqāshī from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit: "that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), when revelation descended upon him, would experience distress and his face would change." There is a strong corroborating ḥadīth from ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) in the story of the slander. It was recorded by Aḥmad (6/197), al-Shaykhān, and others.

"He was the most merciful of people towards family and children." It was narrated by al-Raʾīs ʿUthmān ibn Muḥammad Abū ʿAmr in "His Ḥadīth" (208/1) from ʿAbbās ibn al-Walīd who said: Wahīb narrated to us from Ayyūb from ʿAmr ibn Saʿīd from Anas ibn Mālik as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, except for ʿAbbās ibn al-Walīd who is truthful. It was also recorded by Abū al-Shaykh in "The Ethics of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)" (p. 65): Abū Yaʿlá informed us: al-ʿAbbās al-Narsī informed us with it, without the phrase: "family." Muslim also recorded it (7/76) through the route of Ismāʿīl ibn ʿUlayyah from Ayyūb with the wording: "family" and without the wording: "children."

"The most frequent oath of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was: No, by the Controller of hearts." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (1/644) from ʿAbbād ibn Isḥāq from Ibn Shihāb from Sālim from his father who said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good, and its men are trustworthy according to the criteria of Muslim, except for Abū Isḥāq al-Shāfiʿī Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn al-ʿAbbās, the teacher of Ibn Mājah in it, and he is trustworthy.
