they walked behind the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and he said: "Walk in front of me and leave my back for the angels." I said: A similar narration is found in al-Ḥākim's version with the wording: "Do not walk in front of me or behind me, for this is the position of the angels." It was narrated through the chain of Shuʿbah from al-Aswad with this wording. And this—as you see—contains a prohibition against walking in front of him as well, unlike the narrations of Sufyān. The intention here is walking in front of him in the sense of being on his right and left, not in the sense of directly in front as opposed to behind. And Allāh knows best.

"When revelation descended upon him, it would weigh heavily on him, and his forehead would sweat as if it were pearls, even in the cold." It was narrated by Abū Nuʿaym in "Dalāʾil al-Nubuwwah" (73) through the route of al-Ṭabarānī. Muḥammad ibn ʿUthmān ibn Abī Shaybah said: ʿUqbah ibn Mukram narrated to us, saying: Yūnus ibn Bukayr narrated from ʿUthmān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from al-Zuhrī from Sahl ibn Saʿd who said: I heard Zayd ibn Thābit say it, and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is extremely weak. This ʿUthmān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān is al-Zuhrī al-Qurashī al-Waqāṣī, and he is a liar. However, the ḥadīth was mentioned by al-Haythamī in "al-Majmaʿ" (8/257) in a similar manner, and he said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī with two isnāds, and the men of one of them are trustworthy." Then it became clear to me that both routes revolve around al-Waqāṣī!
