his father, according to the more correct opinion, as stated by the ḥāfiẓ. Abū Isḥāq explicitly stated that he heard from Abū ʿUbaydah, in the narration by Shuʿbah from him with a similar version. It was also recorded by Aḥmad (3719, 3891).

- "When he disliked something, we would recognize it on his face." Recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (2329), ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak (676), and the two Shaykhs in their "Ṣaḥīḥayn," and by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" as well (599), and Ibn Saʿd (1/368) from the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī. It has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of ʿImrān ibn al-Ḥuṣayn, elevated with it. Recorded by Abū al-Shaykh in "Akhlaq al-Nabī ﷺ" (p. 71) and Ibn ʿAdī (f. 122/2) through the route of al-Khalīl ibn Murrah from Qatādah from Abū al-Sawār from him. Al-Khalīl ibn Murrah is weak. It has another supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Anas with the wording: "... it was seen on his face." Recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" as mentioned in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr," and also recorded by al-Bazzār (p. 241) with the wording of Abū Saʿīd mentioned. Its narrators are trustworthy.
