There is another chain for the ḥadīth, narrated by al-Walīd ibn Abī Thawr from Simāk from ʿIkrimah, who said: "ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) was asked: Did you ever hear the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) recite poetry?
