I said: This is a weak mursal isnād; Yazīd ibn Murthad is a reliable follower. Al-Waḍīn ibn ʿAṭāʾ is weak, but the rest of the men are reliable. Marwān is Ibn Muḥammad al-Ṭāṭarī. Ibrāhīm ibn Yūsuf is apparently Ibn Maymūn al-Bāhilī al-Balkhī, and he is truthful. The ḥadīth has a supporting narration from Abū Dharr, elevated with the wording: "Just as grapes are not gathered from thorns, the wicked will not descend to the abodes of the righteous, and there are two paths, whichever you take will lead you to it." It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/112) and Ibn ʿAsākir in "al-Tārīkh" (19/96/2) from Furāt ibn Salmān, who informed us from Abū al-Muhājir al-Dimashqī from Abū Dharr al-Ghifārī, elevated with it. Ibn ʿAsākir mentioned it in the biography of "Abū al-Muhājir," and did not mention more than this ḥadīth. It is likely the one in "Kunā Tārīkh al-Bukhārī" (73/685): "Abū al-Muhājir, the freedman of Banū Kilāb, I said to Ibn ʿAbbās: Just as nothing benefits with shirk, does anything harm with sincerity? From him, ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ṣafwān." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned it in "al-Thiqāt" (5/565) with the narration of Ibn Ṣafwān from him. The rest of the men are authenticated. Thus, the ḥadīth, with the combination of both paths, is ḥasan, and Allāh knows best.
