Aḥmad also narrated (1/206) from Ḥammād ibn Salamah, from Ibn Abī Rāfiʿ, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jaʿfar: "that he married his daughter to al-Ḥajjāj ibn Yūsuf, and he said to her: When he enters upon you, say: 'There is no deity but Allāh, the Forbearing, the Generous. Glory be to Allāh, the Lord of the Great Throne. All praise is due to Allāh, the Lord of the worlds.' And he claimed that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) used to say this when he was troubled by a matter." Ḥammād said: "I thought he said: So he did not approach her." Ibn Abī Rāfiʿ's name is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and they did not mention any narrator for him other than Ḥammād, yet Ibn Maʿīn said: "Reliable." As for al-Ḥāfiẓ, he said: "Acceptable." Meaning when corroborated, otherwise his ḥadīth is weak, and I did not find a corroborator for this context, so his ḥadīth remains weak.
