and I say: Ismāʿīl is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh Ibn Abī Uways, and although he is among the narrators of the two Shaykhs, there is much criticism about him, so it suffices that his ḥadīth is considered ḥasan, but not ṣaḥīḥ. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said about him: "Truthful, but made mistakes in ḥadīths." Yes, this ḥadīth of his is authentic due to what has preceded. And Allāh knows best.

"The words of relief: There is no deity but Allāh, the Forbearing, the Generous; there is no deity but Allāh, the Most High, the Great; there is no deity but Allāh, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Great Throne." It was narrated by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "Al-Faraj Baʿd al-Shiddah" (pp. 13 and 14) and al-Kharāʾiṭī in "Makārim al-Akhlāq" (p. 88) from Yazīd Ibn Hārūn from Saʿīd Ibn Abī ʿArūbah from Qatādah from Abū al-ʿĀliyah from Ibn ʿAbbās from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it. It was also narrated by Aḥmad (1/339) from this chain from his (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) practice with the wording: "He used to say in times of distress..." and he mentioned it. I say: And this isnād is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and they both narrated it through different chains from Ibn Abī ʿArūbah and others with a narration similar to that of Aḥmad. He also narrated it in "Al-Musnad" (1/228, 254, 339, 356). Muslim also narrated it (8/85) through the route of Yūsuf Ibn ʿAbd Allāh Ibn al-Ḥārith from Abū al-ʿĀliyah with the wording: "When he was troubled by a matter, he would say:..." and he mentioned something similar, adding: "There is no deity but Allāh, Lord of the Noble Throne." It is also a narration for Aḥmad (1/268, 280) and in one of his narrations, he added:
