"its isnād is authentic"! al-Dhahabī refuted it by saying: "I say it is disconnected." meaning between ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn and ʿUmar. thus, the disconnection is even more between Muḥammad—who is the son of ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib—and ʿUmar. Refer back to what was previously quoted from the ḥāfiẓ under the fiqh of the aforementioned ḥadīth (99). Ibn ʿAsākir also recorded it in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (6/330-331) through two other chains from Abū Jaʿfar Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Bāqir who said: ʿUmar said... and he mentioned it similarly. In another narration of his from the path of al-Zubayr ibn Bakkār, it is mursal without isnād: "So ʿAlī said to him: I will send her to you, if you are pleased, then I have married her to you. He sent her to him with a cloak and said to her: Say to him: This is the cloak I told you about. She said that to ʿUmar, and he said to her: Say to him, I am pleased with it, may Allāh be pleased with you. He placed his hand on her leg and uncovered it, so she said to him: Do you do this?! If you were not the Commander of the Faithful, I would have broken your nose! Then she went out until she came to her father and informed him of the news and said: You sent me to an evil old man! He said: Wait, my daughter, for he is your husband. Then ʿUmar came to the assembly of the Muhājirīn..." the ḥadīth. Thirdly: al-Ṭabarānī said in "al-Kabīr" (1/124/1): Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, al-Ḥasan ibn Sahl al-Ḥannāṭ informed us, Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah informed us from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad from his father from Jābir who said: I heard ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allāh be pleased with him) say: and he mentioned it as marfūʿ. Through al-Ṭabarānī's path, it was recorded by al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah" (numbers 95, 96 - according to my verification). I say: This isnād's narrators are trustworthy and reliable except for this al-Ḥannāṭ, as al-Samʿānī mentioned in this attribution (al-Ḥannāṭ) to selling wheat, without mentioning any criticism or endorsement. It is possible, in my opinion, that he is al-Ḥasan ibn Sahl al-Jaʿfarī as in "al-Jarḥ" (1/2/17) or al-Jaʿfī as in "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" according to its margin, as Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned that Abū Zurʿah narrated from him. And
