so a man about whom they have given such authentication, it is not fair to disregard him and rely on the statement of one who criticized him, especially when the criticism is vague. The truth is that the man is moderate, and his ḥadīth is good. And Allāh knows best.

- "Every inhabitant of the Fire will see their place in Paradise and will say: If only Allāh had guided me, and it will be a source of regret for them. Every inhabitant of Paradise will see their place in the Fire and will say: If not for Allāh's guidance, and it will be a source of gratitude for them. Then the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) recited: *(Lest a soul should say: Oh, woe to me for what I neglected in regard to Allāh)* (Sūrah al-Zumar, 56)." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (2/435-436), Aḥmad (2/512), and al-Khaṭīb (5/24) from Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh, from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said, "Authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: There is some discussion about Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh regarding his memory, so his ḥadīth is good. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Trustworthy and devout, but when he grew old, his memory deteriorated, and his book is authentic."

- "Every supplication is withheld until blessings are invoked upon the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)." It was narrated by Ibn Makhlad in "al-Muntaqá min Aḥādīthihi" (76/1) and al-Aṣbahānī in "al-Targhīb" (folio 171/2) from Salām ibn Sulaymān, who reported from Qays, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Ḥārith, from ʿAlī in a marfūʿ form
