during the blessed month of Ramadan, when I stayed at home and was unable because of it to fast or sit in my library to continue the scholarly work to which I have dedicated myself. Therefore, the scholarly interest necessitated that some of our brothers from the diligent students of knowledge at the "Islamic Library" undertake the compilation of the mentioned indexes, hoping for their success in this endeavor. I have entrusted my daughter, Umm ʿAbd Allāh—may Allāh bless her, her husband, and her offspring—to explain this in a statement of hers that will serve as the conclusion to this introduction. In the name of Allāh, all praise is due to Allāh, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allāh, Muḥammad (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). To proceed; this is the fifth volume of "The Series of Authentic Ḥadīths," which is being presented to its readers and those awaiting it as a new abundant contribution, to join its counterparts in the "Authentic" and "Weak" series. Its author, the virtuous father, has given it the same attention as its predecessors, crafting it with care; he has infused it with the essence of his knowledge, the summary of his research, and personally supervised the correction of its trials, reviewing all stages of its composition and refinement, despite the pains that have scarcely left him this year. Seizing every opportunity, whether night or day, to retreat to his library, utilizing every moment that might have been for his rest, determined to produce the book in the best form he desires and is capable of. And so it was, until the book reached the stage of (indexing), and as is well known, the indexing by the Shaykh is a science and art in itself, especially the first index (topics and benefits), as it concisely summarizes the book's subjects and research comprehensively
