It was recorded by Ibn Shāhīn in "al-Targhīb" (p. 282/1) through the route of al-Faḍl ibn al-Faḍl Abū ʿUbaydah, who narrated to us from ʿĀṣim in it. However, I did not recognize this ʿĀṣim. Al-Faḍl is lenient in ḥadīth. Thirdly, ʿAmr ibn Ḥamrān from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr in it. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (no. 4322): ʿAlī ibn Saʿīd al-Rāzī narrated to us, Nūḥ ibn Anas al-Rāzī narrated to us, ʿAmr ibn Ḥamrān narrated to us, and he said: "No one narrated it from Muḥammad except ʿAmr." Thus he said, but it is refuted by what preceded, and it is one of the curiosities that this statement and narration are used to correct Ibn Khuzaymah, and by this narration, al-Ṭabarānī! Confirming the saying: How much did the first leave for the last! I say: And this isnād is good; its men are trustworthy. As for the statement of al-Haythamī in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (2/239): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and in it is Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr, and there is discussion about him and someone I did not recognize." He is indicating by the other part of his statement either ʿAmr ibn Ḥamrān or the narrator from him, Nūḥ, or one of them, and I have recognized them as truthful: As for ʿAmr ibn Ḥamrān, he is a Baṣran who settled in Rayy, and a group of trustworthy narrators, named by Ibn Abī Ḥātim in his biography (3/1/227), narrated from him, and he said about his father: "Ṣāliḥ in ḥadīth."
