"No one maintains the ḍuḥā prayer except a repentant person, and it is the prayer of the repentant." It was recorded by Ibn Khuzaymah in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1224) and al-Ḥākim (1/314) from Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Zurārah al-Raqī, who narrated to us from Khālid ibn ʿAbd Allāh, who narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim"! Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: That is one of their errors, for Muslim only included Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr as a corroborative narrator. And Ibn Zurārah was not included by Muslim at all! He is truthful, but al-Azdī spoke against him without evidence, as mentioned in "Taqrīb," so the chain is good, and Ibn Khuzaymah criticized it by saying afterward: "This shaykh Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAbd Allāh was not followed in transmitting this report; it was narrated by al-Darāwardī from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū Salamah in a mursal form. And it was narrated by Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū Salamah as his statement." I say: Ibn Zurārah was not the only one who connected it, for he was followed by: Firstly, Muḥammad ibn Dīnār, who narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr in it. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAdī (folio 301/1) and he said: "Muḥammad ibn Dīnār al-Ṭāḥī is good in ḥadīth, and most of his narrations are unique to him." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "Taqrīb": "Truthful but poor in memory." Secondly, ʿĀṣim ibn Bakkār al-Laythī from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr in it
" لا يحافظ على صلاة الضحى إلا أواب، وهي صلاة الأوابين ". أخرجه ابن خزيمة في " صحيحه " (١٢٢٤) والحاكم (١ / ٣١٤) عن إسماعيل بن عبد الله بن زرارة الرقي حدثنا خالد بن عبد الله حدثني محمد بن عمرو عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: فذكره. وقال الحاكم: " صحيح على شرط مسلم "! ووافقه الذهبي. قلت: وذلك من أوهامهما، فإن محمد بن عمرو إنما أخرج له مسلم متابعة. وابن زرارة لم يخرج له مسلم أصلا! وهو صدوق تكلم فيه الأزدي بغير حجة كما في " التقريب "، فالسند حسن، وقد أعله ابن خزيمة بقوله عقبه: " لم يتابع هذا الشيخ إسماعيل بن عبد الله على إيصال هذا الخبر، رواه الدراوردي عن محمد بن عمرو عن أبي سلمة مرسلا. ورواه حماد بن سلمة عن محمد بن عمرو عن أبي سلمة قوله ". قلت: لم يتفرد ابن زرارة بوصله، فقد تابعه: أولا: محمد بن دينار حدثنا محمد ابن عمرو به. أخرجه ابن عدي (ق ٣٠١ / ١) وقال: " محمد بن دينار الطاحي حسن الحديث، وعامة حديثه ينفرد به ". وقال الحافظ في " التقريب ": " صدوق سيء الحفظ ". ثانيا: عاصم بن بكار الليثي عن محمد بن عمرو به.
