however, this addition has been confirmed from the ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ as mentioned earlier under number (1582), thus the ḥadīth is authentic when considered in its entirety.

"There are two types of military expeditions: as for the one who seeks the pleasure of Allāh, obeys the leader, spends generously, and avoids corruption, then his sleep and wakefulness are all rewarded. But as for the one who fights for pride, show, and reputation, disobeys the leader, and causes corruption on earth, he will not return with any gain." It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (number 2515), al-Nasāʾī in "al-Siyar" from "al-Kubrā" (2/52/1), ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd in "al-Muntakhab" (15/2), and Ibn ʿAdī (44/2) from Baqiyyah from Baḥīr from Khālid ibn Maʿdān from Abū Baḥriyyah from Muʿādh ibn Jabal as marfūʿ. Similarly, it was narrated by al-Haytham ibn Kulayb in "Musnad" (171/1) where Baqiyyah explicitly stated the transmission, and he also stated it explicitly in the narration of Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Aṣamm in "Ḥadīth" (vol. 3, number 97) and Ibn ʿAsākir (8/512/1). It was also narrated by Abū al-Qāsim Ismāʿīl al-Ḥalabī in "Ḥadīth" (113/2) from ʿUthmān ibn ʿAṭāʾ from his father from Muʿādh ibn Jabal as marfūʿ. I say: The first chain is good; its narrators are trustworthy, and Baqiyyah explicitly stated the transmission in most of the narrations. Abū Baḥriyyah's name is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Qays al-Kindī, and he is a trustworthy companion.

"The measure for washing is a sāʿ, and for ablution is a mudd." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (3611) and Ibn ʿAdī (69/2) from Ḥakīm ibn Nāfiʿ al-Ramī from Mūsá ibn ʿUqbah from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar as marfūʿ. He said: "This ḥadīth with this chain is not preserved from Mūsá ibn ʿUqbah." Al-Ṭabarānī said: "No one narrated it from Mūsá except Ḥakīm."
