- "Trials have come upon you like the darkness of the night. The one who is saved among the people is a man who owns a high place and eats from the milk of his sheep, or a man holding the reins of his horse from behind the path, eating from his sword." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/514) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān ibn Khuthaym from Nāfiʿ ibn Sarjas from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it, and said: "Its isnād is authentic." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: It is as they said, and its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim except for this Nāfiʿ, Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (4/1/453) from his father: "I know of nothing but good about him."

- "Other than the Dajjāl, I fear for my ummah more than the Dajjāl, the misguided leaders." It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/145) from Ibn Lahīʿah from Ibn Hubayrah from Abū Tamīm al-Jayshānī who said: I heard Abū Dharr say: "I was accompanying the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) one day to his house, and I heard him say: and he mentioned it." I say: Its men are trustworthy except for Ibn Lahīʿah, for he has poor memory. As for al-Munāwī's statement: "Muslim narrated it in the end of 'al-Ṣaḥīḥ' with the wording: 'Other than the Dajjāl, I fear for you more than the Dajjāl' and then mentioned a long ḥadīth." He means the ḥadīth of al-Nawās ibn Samʿān mentioned earlier under number (482) and it does not include "the misguided leaders."
