"it was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" and its narrators are those of the authentic [collections], except that al-Ṭabarānī's teacher, Muḥammad ibn al-ʿAbbās, from al-Faḍl ibn Suhayl al-Aʿraj, I did not know him." I say: We have come to know him, all praise is due to Allāh, and he is trustworthy and precise, so the ḥadīth is authentic, and success is from Allāh the Exalted. Moreover, he was not alone in narrating it, as Abū Yaʿlá also reported it (309/1) through another chain from Muʿāwiyah ibn Isḥāq with a similar wording: "and the Throne is on his shoulders while he says: Glory be to You, where were You, and where will You be." Furthermore, in al-Ṭabarānī's statement: "Isḥāq was alone in narrating it," there is a consideration, as ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Mūsá followed him, narrating it from Isrāʾīl. It was reported by al-Ḥākim (4/297) who said: "Its isnād is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. In "al-Mustadrak," it appeared as "ʿAbd Allāh" in large print, which is a typographical error. Al-Mundhirī said (3/47): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī with an authentic isnād, and al-Ḥākim said: Its isnād is authentic."
