- "O Allāh, bless its people in it. Meaning the goat." It was recorded by Baḥshal in "Tārīkh Wāsiṭ" (pages 27-29, manuscript copy): Muḥammad ibn Dāwūd ibn Ṣubayḥ narrated to us, saying: Abū Tawbah al-Rabīʿ ibn Nāfiʿ narrated to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn Muhājir narrated from ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym al-Lakhmī from Thawbān, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), who said: "A Bedouin guest came to us, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) sat in front of his houses, asking him about the people's joy with Islam and their eagerness for prayer. He continued to inform him of what pleased him until I saw the face of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) become radiant. When midday came and it was time to eat, he called me quietly, not sparing any effort: 'Go to ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) and inform her that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) has a guest.' She said: 'By the One who sent him with guidance and the religion of truth, there is nothing in my possession that anyone can eat.' He sent me to his other wives, and they all apologized with the same excuse as ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā). I saw the color of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) change. The Bedouin said: 'We, the people of the desert, are accustomed to our times; we are not people of the city. A handful of dates with some milk or water suffices us, and that is abundance!' At that moment, a goat of ours passed by that had been milked, which we called (Thamar Thamar). The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) called it by name (Thamar Thamar), and it came to him bleating. He took hold of its leg in the name of Allāh, then restrained it in the name of Allāh, then wiped its udder in the name of Allāh, and it became full (original: it poured). He called me for a milking vessel, and I brought it to him. He milked it in the name of Allāh, filled it, and handed it to the guest, who drank a large gulp. When he wanted to put it down, the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: 'Drink more.' Then when he wanted to put it down, he said to him: 'Drink more,' repeating it until he was full and drank as much as he wished. Then he milked it again in the name of Allāh, filled it, and said: 'Take this to ʿĀʾishah,' and she drank
