and that Allāh may do good for you like that." He said: Then Kaʿb jumped up and said: O Messenger of Allāh, allow me regarding it. He said: "Are you the one who says: 'They intended...'" He said: Yes, I said: O Messenger of Allāh, "Sukhaynah intended to challenge their Lord, but the challenger will surely be overcome." He said: "Indeed, Allāh has not forgotten that for you." He said: Then Ḥassān stood up and said: O Messenger of Allāh! Allow me regarding it, and he brought out a black tongue, and said: O Messenger of Allāh! Allow me if you wish, I will tear apart the provisions with it. He said: the ḥadīth. And he said: "The isnād is authentic." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him. Thus they both said, and Jābir is Ibn Yazīd al-Juʿfī, and he is weak, but he was followed by Simāk ibn Ḥarb in a mursal form, which strengthens it. And the ḥadīth has come through other routes from al-Barāʾ in a summarized form, so see: "Satirize the polytheists" which has passed under number (801).

- "A group from my nation will continue to be manifest upon the truth, not harmed by those who oppose them until the command of Allāh comes while they are manifest over the people." It was narrated by Aḥmad (4/99): ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī narrated to us from Muʿāwiyah ibn Ṣāliḥ from Rabīʿah ibn Yazīd from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir al-Yaḥṣubī who said: I heard Muʿāwiyah narrating while he was saying: Beware of the ḥadīths of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, except for a ḥadīth that was during the time of ʿUmar, for ʿUmar (may Allāh be pleased with him) was the most feared of people in Allāh ﷿. I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: I said: He mentioned three ḥadīths, this is one of them. And the second: (I am only a treasurer...) And the third: (Whomever Allāh intends good for, He grants him understanding...) and they have preceded under numbers (971 and 1194)
