Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz with it in a continuous chain of transmission. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir, and it was also recorded by Aḥmad (4/216) from al-Walīd alone. 3 - ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-Wāḥid from Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz with it in a continuous chain. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir. 4 - Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān al-Ḥarrānī: Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz informed us with it, explicitly stating that ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī ʿUmayrah heard it from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). It was recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir. I said: These are five paths from Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, and all of them are from the trustworthy narrators of Syria. It is unlikely that they all heard it from him after his memory weakened, and perhaps for this reason, the ḥāfiẓ did not attribute it to memory weakness. He said in the biography of Ibn Abī ʿUmayrah in "al-Iṣābah": "The only defect in the ḥadīth is confusion, as its narrators are trustworthy. Al-Walīd ibn Muslim and ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-Wāḥid narrated it from Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, differing from Abū Musher regarding his teacher. They said: from Saʿīd from Yūnus ibn Maysarah from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī ʿUmayrah. It was recorded by Ibn Shāhīn through the path of Maḥmūd ibn Khālid from them, and likewise, it was recorded by Ibn Qāniʿ through the path of Zayd ibn Abī al-Zarqāʾ from al-Walīd ibn Muslim." I said: This narration of al-Walīd was also recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir through another path from him, but the narration from him and from ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-Wāḥid, which aligns with the narration of Abū Musher, is more reliable than their conflicting narration, especially since Marwān ibn Muḥammad al-Dimashqī and Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān al-Ḥarrānī corroborated it as mentioned earlier.
